To create a much more uniform and unique look for the Collective the majority of costume is made by the current players in the group.

If you wish to play as a myrmidon member of the group then the basic kit that we wish to have among all members is the standard mask. This is a large fly-like looking mask (shown in link below - Photographic Credit to Anne Wilson) that is made of plastizote foam covered in latex and then sealed with clear rubber. The eyes are made of mesh and allow (almost) unimpeded vision.

One of these masks will cost in the region of £25-30.

Other kit is available to order, but due to real life commitments it cannot be guarenteed how long it will take to produce it. I will also put up "how-to" guides on making other bits of basic kit that could enhance costumes. A lot of this can be seen in the above Photo. Carapace chest pieces, made of either foam and latex (left hand costume) or plastic (right hand costume) can be ordered, as well as the LRP-safe claws seen on both players. Costs are rough estimates but a foam carapace comes in at around £30 and a set of claws for £15.

It is also possible for foam/latex legs to be made, but these are more complicated and take a lot longer to sort out, roughly costing £45-50.

Generally speaking the current members of the group go as "bare" myrmidon physiques. This entails suits that show of the carapace of the chest, legs and arms. Although there are characters who choose to wear clothes that "hide" this carapace instead, creating a less hard-work costume.

A great starting point for having under any costume is a black boiler-suit seen on the left-hand costume of the above photo, these can be purchased for around £12-15 from eBay or a number of over vendors.

There are plenty of further costume ideas floating around between the current group members, so if you fancied trying something a little bit different then just ask and we can see if we can help out.

If you have any ideas/requests etc about costumes then feel free to post in this forum or send a private message to myself and ill get back to you as soon as i can.

We also have compiled a folder of photos from all the events we have attended, showing the diversity of costumes within the group which may give inspiration to wannabe new members.
